The electric guitar is iconic. It is the foundation on which virtually all rock and pop was built. It is also easy to learn on. No really, it is. Radiohead called it correctly with an early song... Anyone Can Play Guitar. Good inexpensive copies of a Gibson Les Paul or a Fender Stratocaster amongst others are readily available these days so it is possible to sound good, feel good and look good from the get go playing an electric guitar.

From the classic rock and pop of The Beatles and The Stones through to Led Zeppelin and ACDC, and on to Nirvana, Red Hot Chilli Peppers right up to Three Days Grace, there is a rich and varied selection of music to use as learning material. It's all valid for honing your guitar playing skills on, so whatever music you like, the necessary techniques can be gained while working on your preferred genre or artists.

Of course, being easy to play is one thing. Playing skilfully, tastefully and with feeling takes dedication, desire and practice.

Electric Guitar Lessons

If you've never played a guitar before..

I have an electric guitar you can use during your first few lessons. This saves you buying an electric guitar straightaway. It also helps you decide on the style, tone and model of guitar. Picking your first guitar is important decision and I can help advise you on that during your lesson. I encourage all students to get their own guitar if they plan on continuing with lessons, as you'll need one at home to practice on before you return for your next lesson.
